Paul has extensive experience in intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on freedom to proceed opinions, infringement analyses, foreign and U. S. patent and trademark prosecution, business purchase IP due diligence, mechanical and packaging technologies.

Previously he was a project engineer and project manager with a leading engineering and consulting firm, bringing valuable client-side experience to his IP practice. He now works with manufacturers of process systems, machinery and consumer products to address issues involving trade secrets, patents, copyrights, trademarks and related business agreements.

Prior to being admitted to the Illinois bar, Paul became a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Indiana. His technical subject matter expertise is in the fields of physics and mechanical engineering, including nuclear shielding, container closure technology, food processing, material handling, medical devices, laminated and web articles and intraocular lenses.
